NEW ROCHELLE- Guys like Billy Watterson, Mark Swertfager, and Tim Gecaj are supposed to be there at the end. They and so many of their equally famous teammates have represented John Jay wrestling for a long time. The rest of the section figures a bunch of them are going to win at tournaments like Saturday's Shoreline.

Meet tournament to deny the Indians their seventh straight win at this event. John Jay's Billy Watterson was named Most Outstanding Wrestler. Sleepy Hollow beat Somers 40-39 to take third.

CROSS RIVER- Anybody who wants to know why the Section 1 Dual Meet Championship has become the John Jay Invitational should take a peek into the crowded wrestling room at Cross River. Most wrestling rooms don't require reservations.
Fifty kids are jam-packed in there. There are two varsity teams, each with 15, and a JV with 20 more.
